The team focuses on managing, optimizing, and securing enterprise database environments to ensure performance, availability, and scalability across business applications. Day to day you will administer Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases; monitor system performance; support development, testing, and production environments; and manage database upgrades, backups, and security. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will design and implement database solutions, optimize performance, support application integration, and provide technical expertise to development teams and business units.
ResponsibilitiesWhat You Can Offer Us
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL (Structured Query Language) Server database environments and related tools.
- Create and manage database storage structures, including schemas, tables, views, indexes, and logical storage components.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning and optimization solutions.
- Support database upgrades and implement new features and capabilities across Oracle and SQL Server platforms.
- Collaborate with developers to optimize queries, applications, and database interactions.
- Administer database security, backups, recovery processes, and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Support development, test, and production environments, including user management and system configurations.
- Participate in system design, requirements gathering, and development of database and technical specifications.
- Develop, test, and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Contribute to data warehouse optimization, including tuning data processing jobs and workflows.
- Monitor and resolve production issues and Service Desk tickets, owning problem resolution from start to finish.
- Support cloud-based database environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
- Maintain and implement database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions such as Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate.
- Install and support enterprise and third-party software packages for database-related systems.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, workflows, and system processes.
- Provide status updates, reporting, and participate in implementation and post-implementation reviews.
- Stay current with emerging database and application development technologies and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline preferred.
- Between 5–7 years of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database administration experience in an enterprise environment required.
- Experience administering Oracle Database on Linux/Unix operating systems, including user management, file systems, logical volumes, and scheduling tools required.
- Experience with Oracle 19c and 12c and Microsoft SQL Server 2019 environments required.
- Strong knowledge of database replication, clustering, and high-availability technologies, including Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate required.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and performance tuning required.
- Experience with cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure preferred.
- Strong understanding of Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies and Linux server environments required.
- Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and database recovery experience required.
- Strong knowledge of relational database concepts and data modeling techniques required.
- Ability to manage security, governance, and best practices within database environments required.
- Fluency in English required; multilingual capabilities preferred.
- Approximately 15% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
