Sr Admin Applications Ops

We are seeking a Senior Admin Application Operations to join American Tower’s Information Technology (“IT”) organization. This role serves as a senior-level administrator and technical lead responsible for the end-to-end administration, stability, and operational maturity of application platforms supporting middleware, custom applications and integrations (e.g., MuleSoft, Tomcat, WebLogic, ODI[TY1] ) within a global operating model. This role expands beyond execution to include platform-level ownership, standardization, and continuous improvement, with accountability for environment strategy, configuration integrity, deployment reliability, and operational governance. The Senior Analyst partners closely with engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, and architecture teams to ensure applications are operable by design, resilient, and scalable. You will lead efforts in advancing continuous delivery/deployment (“CI/CD”) pipelines, automation frameworks, and DevOps practices, while ensuring consistent adoption of ITIL[TY2] -aligned processes (change, configuration, release, and problem management). This role plays a key part in improving platform reliability, reducing operational risk, and driving automation-led efficiency across environments.

• Lead and standardize platform administration practices across applications, defining operational patterns and improving consistency and operational readiness across environments.
• Define and enforce configuration management standards, ensuring integrity, consistency, and auditability of application environments across development, test, and production.
• Design and standardize CI/CD pipelines, establishing best practices for automated deployments and environment orchestration and release standardization.
• Architect and implement automation frameworks to eliminate manual processes and improve deployment and operational efficiency at scale.
• Manage and govern complex deployments, upgrades, and patching activities, including release planning, sequencing, rollback strategies, and validation of production readiness.
• Provide leadership over environment health, performance, and integration stability, driving proactive risk mitigation and ensuring operability, automation, and observability are embedded across application design and 
delivery.
• Lead advanced troubleshooting of platform, configuration, and integration issues, leveraging deep expertise in logs, data flows, and system architecture.
• Drive systemic root cause elimination and implement structural improvements to prevent recurring platform issues.
• Act as a key contributor to DevOps and operational maturity initiatives, influencing best practices for environment management, observability, automation, and release engineering.
• Define and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability practices to improve visibility into platform health, performance, and integration stability.
• Continuously improve and optimize ITIL-aligned processes to enhance operational efficiency and risk management.
• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to ensure operability, scalability, and supportability are embedded into system design and delivery pipelines.
• Maintain and continuously evolve operational standards and documentation, including runbooks, configuration baselines, deployment models, and automation frameworks.
• Mentor and guide Associate and Base-level analysts, providing technical leadership and promoting consistent administrative standards and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform stability, reduce operational overhead, and standardize administration practices across the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

• 5+ years of experience in application administration, middleware platform operations, or DevOps-oriented roles.

• Proven expertise in middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Tomcat, WebLogic and ODI) and strong understanding of application integrations and distributed system architectures.
• Demonstrated experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release engineering practices.
• Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell, or similar) to optimize platform operations and reduce manual effort.
• Strong understanding and practical application of ITIL frameworks, including change management, configuration management, release management, and problem management.
• Demonstrated ability to own platform stability and drive root cause elimination, with a proactive and prevention-focused operational mindset.
• Experience operating in complex enterprise environments with multiple applications, integrations, and dependencies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex cross-system and configuration issues.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, DevOps, architecture) to drive operational improvements and standards.
• Strong communication and documentation skills in English, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts, operational standards, and governance practices.
