Hospital Senior Accountant
Job Description:
In this technical, fast-paced, and rewarding position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to manage the general accounting and budgeting functions for the assigned facility(s) to ensure that financial reporting needs are met and that financial statements present fairly, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, the results of the hospitals’ operations.
Your Job Requirements:
Bachelor degree with major in accounting required
CPA Preferred
Hospital accounting experience preferred
Work Experience: 5 or more years of experience
Must be a team-oriented problem-solver.
Accounting software experience (Workday preferred)
Related budgeting experience required
Report writer experience helpful
Your Primary Job Responsibilities:
Performs the monthly close for assigned hospitals to assure completion of the monthly financial and statistical reports in a timely and accurate manner, including coordination with facilities’ administrative and operational teams and centralized finance team.
Assists with the preparation of the annual operating budget for assigned facilities, including oversight of model tables used for revenue/volume budgets, assisting departments with their budget, and review of overall accuracy of budget and related spreads.
Assist with preparation of annual audit schedules, year-end account reconciliations and interface with auditors.
Assists with the routine ongoing analysis of balance sheet asset and liability accounts for various entities.
Assists with facilities’ year-end count of physical inventory, extensions, and records necessary adjustments and ensures the accuracy of records.
Assists with communication with facility and corporate leadership on the status of the accounting operation and budgets as needed.
Assists in providing facility’s administrative and operational teams with financial training and support.
Other duties as assigned.

Education:
BA/BS degree with major in accounting required
Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred)
CPA Preferred
Related Work Experience and Other Skills:
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Hospital accounting experience preferred
Must be a team-oriented problem-solver.
Must be able to analyze complex issues, identify relevant facts and communicate problematic resolution both verbally and in writing.
Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to interface with a multidiscipline management staff.
Accounting software experience preferred (Workday preferred)
PC Skills: advanced Excel experience, word processing, Power Point, etc.
Related budgeting experience preferred
Ten key by touch
Work Experience:
