The Purpose:
The Senior Accountant will join our strong Accounting team at Slickdeals in the Las Vegas or Los Angeles office. This candidate will be partnered closely with our Senior Accounting Manager and will play a key role in developing and guiding other staff in the department. The individual is responsible for the month end close process, monitoring general accounting practices, developing internal accounting controls, and tracking high volume transactions. We are looking for a strong, passionate candidate and a team player to join our stellar team.
What You'll Do:
- Drive month end close process ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
- Perform and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations, key areas relating to Debt and Leases
- Provide accurate data quarterly for our debt compliance requirements
- Investigate fluctuations and understand trends in financial statements
- Provide support, training, mentoring, and problem resolution for the accounting team on an ongoing basis
- Act as a liaison with other departments and external parties concerning accounting information and other assigned areas
- Prepare local compliance filings, including business property taxes, new business licenses, and 1099s
- Assist with and prepare information for annual financial audits
- Willing to learn and take ownership of assigned areas
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- Ability to work well independently, in a fast paced and team-oriented environment
- Highly organized, detail oriented and focused on the tasks assigned
- Ability to work cross-functionally and assist in problem solving with other departments, i.e. operations, marketing.
- Performs all tasks to meet the company’s monthly accounting goals and objectives
- Work with Accounting leadership & team to optimize deliverables
- BA / BS in Accounting or Finance
- At least 3 years of work experience in accounting or finance; CPA and month-end close management experience are pluses
- Knowledge of GAAP standards
- Experience with Netsuite, Quickbooks, or similar accounting software
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft excel, word and Google suite software
- Ability to meet deadlines quickly and accurately, multi-task and work well under pressure
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
LOCATION: San Mateo, CA or Las Vegas, NV
Hybrid schedule visiting our San Mateo or Las Vegas office three days a week (Tues-Thurs).
