U-Haul is seeking a Database Administrator to join the Repair Management team as an Associate Database Administrator and Windows server Administrator. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality, be self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude. Additionally, they will have experience working with Microsoft SQL and failover clustering.
Duties:
- Managing SQL Server & Database access
- Monitor and respond to SQL server performance degradation
- Make optimization recommendations to SQL queries
- Troubleshoot issues with applications connecting to SQL databases
- Perform SQL server and database maintenance
- Monitor database backups
- Respond to capacity issues on database servers
- Perform SQL upgrades
- Improve existing monitors and develop new alerts
- Mentor other members of the team
Preferred Requirements/Education:
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL 2016 or newer. Duties could include those listed above
- 2+ years of Windows Server experience. Duties could include patching, managing access, troubleshooting performance, etc.
- A computer technology degree or equivalent work experience required
- Experience with Azure, C Sharp, Oracle and Databricks preferred
