SQA Tester (Automation)

Advanced Systems Design is seeking a SQA Tester (Automation) for our client.

This is a work-from-home opportunity. 

The Challenge

The CARMA Enhancements team supports mission-critical capabilities for the Department of Veterans Affairs within the Patient Care product line. As a SQA Tester (Automation), you will help deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions across the full software lifecycle. You will work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate mission needs into measurable outcomes, manage technical and delivery risks, and support high-quality releases. The work supports CARMA enhancements and requires practical Salesforce knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test strategies, plans, cases, scripts, and traceability for functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing.
• Validate requirements and acceptance criteria across supported applications, interfaces, data, roles, and workflows.
• Record, triage, retest, and close defects with clear evidence, severity, impact, and reproducible steps.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, product owners, and stakeholders to improve quality throughout the SDLC.
• Report test progress, risks, coverage, and release readiness using objective evidence.

Must Have

• 4+ years of software quality assurance or testing experience.
• Experience creating test cases and executing functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with defect tracking, test evidence, requirements traceability, and Agile delivery.
• Experience with test automation frameworks/tools (e.g., Selenium and Provar)
• Experience with using Provar for automation testing, including:
• Ability to build efficient, robust automated test cases in Provar
  • Maintain and update tests based on sprint changes or defects
  • Build reusable tests executable across multiple sandboxes/environments
  • Proper use of Git for merging and managing automation scripts
  • Maintain a test repository in GitHub
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the automation framework
• Salesforce platform knowledge, including data model, security, automation, integrations, and release practices.
• Awareness of Salesforce release impacts and how tools like Provar reduce test breakage
• Proficiency with automation concepts: XPaths, locators, data-driven testing, and test design patterns
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and build pipelines
• Basic knowledge of SOQL, Salesforce APIs, and metadata behavior
• Ability to obtain and maintain required government credentials, including a PIV where applicable.

Nice If You Have

• Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs, federal health IT, or other regulated healthcare programs.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Git, Microsoft 365, and collaborative Agile delivery tools.
• Salesforce certification such as Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer, or Application Architect.
