Job Responsibilities:
General Job Duties:

- Ensure that you follow company policies and business objectives in the daily supervision of the operations of the company.

- To support all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.
- To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department's established procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between our internal and external customers and suppliers.
Specific Job Duties:
- Understand the employee's rights under the OSHA Act, EEOC, FLSA and do not allow for discrimination against any employee exercising their rights.
- Exemplify the Charter principle for a safe and healthful workplace.
- Demonstrate awareness for the safety of others in the work environment.
- Support a proactive safety environment by identifying and eliminating hazardous conditions and practices.
- Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to set good workplace standards and ensure all employees maintain those standards.
- Follow safety rules of Decostar and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace including but not limited to: perform regular workplace inspections, conducting safety talks, team meetings, being involved in the accident/incident investigation program, training of new employees, correcting unsafe acts or conditions, correcting or commending health and safety performance and ensuring lockout/tagout is performed and enforced.
- Ensure that all accidents or injuries are reported immediately and actively participate in the accident investigation and completion of all open action items.
- Demonstrate commitment and support personnel to reducing the impacts of its operation on the environment.
- Direct the Logistics team in their efforts to achieve all Key Operational Indicators by participating on a daily basis in team meetings and offering ideas/suggestions.
- Supervise Logistics activities through strong leadership, communication, motivation and direction of employees to ensure both internal and external customer requirements are met.
- Train team leaders and members in developing teamwork skills and team oriented activities in a positive working environment.
- Ensure proper Forklift Operator staffing is available to meet daily production requirements. This includes weekends and other extra hours as required.
- Select and train Forklift Operators as needed.
- Manage forklift preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Track time sheets and attendance records and ensure that all performance reviews are completed in a timely manner.
- Supervise forklift activities and issue corrective actions as required to enforce proper material handling and warehousing procedures.
- Ensure that all storage structures (racks, lifts, etc) are certified for the intended weight loading and regular inspections are conducted to ensuring any damage is repaired in order to maintain certification.
- Reconcile daily shipping data and complete reports.
- Monitor shipments to ensure that customer specific requirements are met.
- Interface with our customers through various means to ensure that we are in compliance with their prescribed shipping methods and requirements.
- Work with the carriers to ensure that we are utilizing the best service in terms of dependability and economy.
- Maintain procedures and ensure full compliance of the regulations governing the movement of goods.
- Provide accurate inventory for scheduling purposes using available applications and cycle counting.
- Ensure all forklift drivers and other employees under your supervision accurately scan all labels and report any errors.
- Maintain an orderly and neat stock, in both receiving and shipping.
- Provide warehouse solutions for improving operation flow of product through the manufacturing process.
- Recommend, implement, and support continuous improvement within the department and the company to improve employee performance, quality control, productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Ensure that housekeeping (5S) is maintained throughout your department and that all warehouse storage is in the correct locations.
- Provide training as needed for logistics team on new process or material flows.
- Establish and periodically review departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Create/maintain all work guidance and procedures for all products as they pertain to the processes involved in the shipment and receipt of materials, product storage and movement product to support production and customer requirements. Ensure team members are adequately trained in all these procedures and that the documentation is consistent with Decostar QS-9000 protocol.
- Ensure all employees operating forklifts are certified and recertification is completed as required.
- Regularly review and update the training matrix for your department to ensure accuracy is maintained and all employees are trained in their job duties.
- Ensure that all forklift drivers perform and document the pre-shift safety inspection of their forklifts or other mechanical equipment.
- Assist with functional testing of new applications as needed.
- Assist in planning and maintaining a balanced departmental budget.
- Perform various other duties as required.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment with a good understanding of lean manufacturing principles within automotive manufacturing & assembly, inventory management, warehousing and shipping/receiving functions.
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated abilities to effectively communicate with other department team members as well as the Decostar management team.
- Certified Decostar Forklift Driver.
- Knowledge of WMS, Shop Floor applications and labeling requirements.
- Must have experience using personal computers in a Windows based environment.
- Fluent in English (reading and writing).
Education:
- Bachelor degree related to manufacturing, logistics or equivalent experience.
