The Role
Description
The Elevator Pitch 

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced sales professional to drive growth in Evolv's newly-formed Professional Sports Business Unit.   This unit targets professional teams in North America and Europe, with the goal of establishing our innovative security screening solution as essential at stadiums, arenas, and other related venues. Professional sports is a vital industry vertical for our company and is central to our long-term growth strategy. You will use an entrepreneurial mindset to manage a designated U.S. territory. We need you to be a domain expert, fully versed in the goals and objectives of the many stakeholders who impact the decision to select and deploy our system to transform the fan experience. You will have responsibility for the full sales process, working with our existing go to market team.  

Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? 

In the first 30 days, you will: 

  • Position Evolv as a leader in stadiums, teams, clubs throughout professional sports venues across your designated territory. 
  • Familiarize yourself with our solutions, value propositions, and key stakeholders in the professional sports vertical. 

Within 3 months, you will: 

  • Build and leverage relationships at various levels within leagues, teams, and related stakeholders groups to generate leads and move them through a sales funnel to deal closure.  
  • Use a consultative approach that assists prospects in defining their requirements and objectives and opportunities to improve their audience experience. 
  • Use demonstrations, case studies, best practices, and other tactics to execute a horizontal growth strategy within leagues (i.e., team to team) and geographies (i.e., venue to venue in a city or across cities). 

By the end of the first year, you will: 

  • Be an advocate within Evolv for the needs and interests of clients and prospects; effectively communicate their requirements and operational realities. 
  • Compile and effectively communicate marketplace learnings (e.g., competitive activity, changing local standards and regulations) internally within our company. 
  • Demonstrate success in achieving revenue targets and building a strong pipeline 
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? 

Work closely with the VP of Sports and Entertainment analyze and improve reporting accuracy and provide actionable insights. 

Manage the end-to-end sales process, including: lead generation, proposal development, negotiations, and closing deals, while maintaining pricing integrity and addressing unique deal factors. 

Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, customer success, and product teams to ensure smooth client onboarding, striving for an excellent experience. 

Represent Evolv as a thought leader at industry events, maintaining deep marketplace knowledge. 

Communicate effectively to all levels of internal and external stakeholders. 

Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with an entrepreneurial mindset. 

Experience with recurring revenue business models a strong plus. 

Travel frequently including nights, weekends, and holidays, to serve the needs of our customers 

Proficiency with CRM (i.e., Salesforce) and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team? 

You will be reporting to our Vice President of Sports and Entertainment. The team culture is one based on building trust, collaboration, on-going development through kindness, authenticity, courage, drive, and fun! 

Where is the role located? 

Our ideal candidate for this role is based in the Midwest, with accessibility to major airport hubs.  We anticipate frequent travel, approximately 50-80% of the time.  

What is the salary range? 

The base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000- $105,000 + commission+ equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
