CCV Stars is a year-round, rapidly growing, multi-site outreach ministry of CCV that exists to connect the community through sports. Stars provides a comprehensive program that not only develops the skills of players, but also comes alongside the parents to help form a foundation that will develop character and integrity, making sports more than a game. CCV Stars is the largest youth sports program of its kind with over 20,000 youth participants each year. We currently offer various levels of flag football and soccer at various times of the year. The Stars Coordinator will primarily be responsible for overseeing the Stars facilities during evening practice and game days. 

Job Description

Essential Job Functions 

  • Ministry:
    • Reinforce the mission of Stars to move people across the parking lot to CCV 
    • Ensure More Than A Game elements like huddles, cards, and prayer are taking place
    • Building relationships with Stars families & coaches
    • Guide coaches and volunteers to grow in their next steps
  • Programming:
    • Recruiting and training volunteers for coaches, guest services, and field ops
    • Support volunteer coaches as needed during practices and games
  • Operations:
    • Ensure facility ready for all practices/games (signage, equipment, fields/courts, restrooms, etc)
    • Manage and steward facility and equipment/inventory
    • Oversee safety and quality of facility, handling minor repairs and communicating with landscapers
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Variable schedule including ~2 nights a week and Saturdays on the fields during season
    • Assist and contribute to non-Stars related campus wide events

Character and Chemistry: 

Candidates for this position must demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of CCV. 

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Commit– Have been baptized by immersion and be actively pursuing a Christ-centered life. 
  • Worship – Regularly engage in CCV’s weekend services and personal worship, attending with their spouse or family if they have one. 
  • Serve – Be dedicated to serving others within CCV and the broader community. 
  • Coach – Be committed to coaching and guiding others in their Next Steps. 
  • Generosity – Tithe 10% of their income to CCV as an expression of faith and stewardship. 
  • Community Engagement – Actively participate in a CCV Group for spiritual growth and connection. 

These requirements ensure that the candidate embodies CCV’s core commitments and values while fostering a thriving church community. 

  • Fully engaged (or willingness to) in CCV Next Steps:
    • Baptism-by immersion at an age of decision
    • Worship-regularly attend CCV service with family
    • Connect-participation in CCV small group
    • Serve-volunteer somewhere within a CCV ministry
    • Give-returning at least a full 10% tithe to the local church CCV
  • Team Player-expected to follow Lead Sports Pastor and assist health of Stars team

Education and Experience

  • Previous leadership experience highly desired
  • Coaching and Stars experience are assets
