Job Description
The Python Software Foundation (PSF) is the US nonprofit behind Python, the open source  programming language. The PSF currently has an opening for a full-time, fully remote (US-based) role focused on the systems and processes that allow our sponsorship program to succeed and keeping them humming. The role also involves managing regular professional communication with our sponsors, prospects, and other relationships. Charitable corporate sponsorships are the core source of the PSF’s revenue, and ensuring smooth tracking, prospecting, and relationship management for sponsorships is crucial to the organization as a whole. In this role, you will work closely with the Deputy Executive Director, who has been executing this work to date. You will also collaborate closely with the Programs Director and Community Events Coordinator who together run PyCon US, as much of the PSF’s sponsorship work relates to PyCon US.

This role is a great opportunity for someone self-directed and process- and detail-oriented who thrives on being organized and enjoys managing and designing systems. You should also be comfortable with frequent professional email communication with sponsors and other stakeholders. You will join a small-but-mighty, talented and friendly team in a mission-oriented environment, with ample opportunities to learn, take ownership, and follow your own initiative in a supportive environment. We are a small organization serving a big mission, and we are looking for great employees who can become an integral part of our fully-remote team. This is a great opportunity to build on or develop nonprofit fundraising and operational experience and to work in the vibrant open source technology sector.

About the PSF: The PSF’s mission is to promote, protect, and advance the Python programming language, and to support and facilitate the growth of a diverse and international community of Python programmers. By several measures, Python is the most popular programming language in the world, used everywhere from the Mars rover to under the hood of Instagram. In fact, a large share of the global tech sector depends on Python, including the burgeoning field of AI. We’re proud that first-time coders around the world are often introduced to coding through Python, and that Python assists research scientists in diverse fields in their work. As a result of the key role Python plays globally, the community we support counts millions of Python developers and enthusiasts and stewarding the Python language and ecosystem is a weighty responsibility. We serve our mission by protecting the fundamental Python IP and infrastructure, running the PyCon US conference annually, funding other Python conferences/workshops around the world with our grants program, and supporting  Python-related development and security work through our Developers in Residence program.
