We are seeking a Specialist, Sourcing with a strong background in managing raw materials procurement. This role will be crucial in ensuring efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations, from the initial program kickoff through to product launch. The Specialist, Sourcing will be responsible for sourcing and helping support managing relationships with suppliers of raw materials and equipment, ensuring that our operations are profitable and aligned with our industry standards.

Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Recognize the different project steps within Canadian Solar Process to source new Direct and Indirect Materials and Services
  • Recognize the different standards requested by Quality, Production and Engineering systems within Canadian solar to ensure product will meet all standards.

Products

  • Understand and Develop Best scope of work to be fulfilled by Service provider and suppliers.
  • Be able to recognize product limitation in a given market and understand critical parts of a given product to identify capable vendors
  • Understanding Market situation for a given product (cost and manufacturing capacity)
  • Sourcing Strategy
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Help negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Support implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality and/or delivery schedules.
  • Understand supplier capacities and competitive advantages.

Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues promptly and provide Root analysis with plans to resolve in short term and prevent in long term
  • Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in quality, costs, and delivery.

Procurement:

  • Oversee the procurement process, from requisition to delivery.
  • Run Internal approval process for full transparency
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide strategic resources

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, logistics, supply chain management or business administration
  • Master degree as a Plus in same disciplines
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proven experience in supply chain management, sourcing, and procurement roles for more than 3 years
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • A strategic and analytical mind
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of supply chain software and analytics tools.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working experience of SAP or Other MRP’s
  • Languages: English, Mandarin (Plus)
