This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.


Your Role:


Within the operation and Security Management team, the Specialist will support the National Security team in all their initiatives, working independently towards significant deliverables using expertise in security and threat management.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide reporting, analytical support, and support the delivery of security measures and security infrastructure management programs.
  • Monitor and respond to security correspondence and concerns from staff (threat email screening/triage).
  • Supervise on-site security personnel.
  • Implement and oversee elements of security projects.
  • Document management.
  • Investigate crimes and threats against the corporation.
  • Support special event risk evaluations (e.g., award shows, galas, TV shows).
  • Support the development and deployment of security awareness material.
  • Support corporate fire safety/prevention initiatives.
  • Support security audits.
  • Support incident metrics/trending.
  • Support Project Management process (timeslines/budgets/contractor/stakeholders).
  • Support System Integration Initiatives (Access Control, Intrusion, CCTV, Intercom).
  • Support awareness / training campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Security Management, Policing, or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Security Management, including major events and intelligence gathering/analysis.
  • Bilingual (French and English) with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel; possible weekend work during crisis situations.
  • Ability to function effectively in a highly complex, diverse, and sometimes ambiguous work environment.
  • Problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of management and unionized staff.
  • Ability to deal with people in crisis.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
