Job Description

Our Digital Manufacturing Operations Team, supporting our West Point site, is seeking a  Manufacturing Automation Specialist. This role will provide system support for connected instruments such as pH/conductivity meters and spectrophotometers, including qualification and integration testing for manufacturing instrument connections to MES.

Use your expertise to help enable our manufacturing division in the reliable and compliant supply of quality vaccine products to customers and patients around the globe, while maintaining system compliance with SDLC, GMP, safety, and environmental regulations. The role actively supports and promotes a diverse and inclusive culture through significant interaction with manufacturing, quality, and engineering groups.

General Responsibilities

  • Work independently and as a team member with Integrity, Precision, Accomplishment, Motivational Ambition, Respect, and Inclusion.

  • Comply with global policies, procedures, and guidelines; regulatory requirements; and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions.

  • Design, implement, test, and close out change controls for corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Build relationships with functional counterparts and business stakeholders to proactively identify and resolve technical issues.

  • Lead or participate in investigations of incidents and problems to prevent recurrence, including the development and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Stay current with the latest automation technologies and trends and make recommendations for adoption.

Skill Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with colleagues at all levels in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in GMP manufacturing within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

  • Familiarity with computer system validation and regulatory GxP requirements.

  • Aseptic processing and/or sterile manufacturing experience.

  • Technical and operational expertise in DeltaV DCS, Allen-Bradley PLC, SCADA, HMI, ASi/Field/Profibus, or related technologies.

  • Experience with networking, virtual machines, database management, and general IT administration.

  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related field, plus 2 years of experience in process automation, instrument validation, or a related area.

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Science, Information Technology, or a related field, plus 3 years of experience in process automation, instrument validation, or a related area.

  • High school diploma, plus 6 years of experience in process automation, instrument validation, or a related area.

The salary range for this role is

$87,300.00 - $137,400.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
