The Digital Marketing Specialist serves a vital role in advancing the Seminary’s mission by creating compelling digital content, managing social media channels, and using online tools to support Concordia Seminary’s broader marcomm initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize digital marketing campaigns across various channels (e.g., social media, email, display, search engine marketing (SEM, etc.) in support of Seminary goals and in service to departments across campus.
- Conduct keyword research and on-page/off-page SEO optimization.
- Set up, manage and report on paid advertising campaigns (e.g. Google Ads, social media ads, etc.).
- Assist with content creation and optimization for digital platforms (e.g., website, social media, email, etc.) including the capture and editing of photography and short-form video; collaborate with campus departments to gather stories, testimonials and other content that highlights the Seminary community and maintain a content calendar.
- Manage and execute email marketing campaigns, including segmentations, A/B testing and performance tracking.
- Monitor social media channels, schedule content, and engage with online communities.
- Use web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track, report and analyze website traffic and campaign performance.
- Identify trends and insights in digital data to provide actionable recommendations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure consistent brand messaging and articulation of a Gospel witness across digital touchpoints.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field.
- One to three years of professional experience in digital marketing, social media management or content creation.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Basic graphic design skills using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar applications.
- Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Ads and social media advertising platforms.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with SEO, SEM, social media marketing and email marketing.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for Seminary events.
- Membership in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) preferred.

- Available for occasional evenings and weekends to cover campus-related events as required
- Member in good standing with LCMS-affiliated congregation
- Experience in a cross-platform environment (Mac/PC) using applications including Microsoft Office
- Dexterity in using social media websites and management systems, such as Hootsuite
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications, Canva or similar applications
