Experience, Qualification and Skills Required:
- NQF Level 7 - Degree, Advance Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate or equivalent
- 2 - 4 years’ experience in a Compliance & Risk management role within the Non-life Insurance industry.
- QA Methodologies, Regulatory Compliance Management, Requirements Development

Responsibilities
Contribute to the implementation of fit-for-purpose first line compliance management methodologies.
In collaboration with Channel Owners: Develop, implement and monitor fit-for-purpose 1st line regulatory risk controls and action plans.

Identify internal non-compliance incidents.
Monitor adherence to the Old Mutual Insure policies and processes
In conjunction with the business perform regulatory risk control self-assessments
Generate monthly and quarterly compliance reports detailing the status of assigned projects, action logs, and monitoring efforts.
Solve system or methodology-related queries generated by the business.
Design appropriate compliance reports required by the Retail and/or the Compliance and Risk Control Functions.
Identify, plan for and implement detailed monitoring themes.
Assist in compiling and updating the annual compliance plan, compliance management plans, regulatory universe and any other compliance management documents.
Maintain and monitor the register of all contracts and regulatory risks relating to business.
Attend Operational Committees and other meetings with a view to keeping abreast of the risks facing the business.
Build and maintain relationships with Retail management
Contribute towards/assist with compliance awareness campaigns and training.
Assist management in projects with technical assistance and advice to achieve commercial objectives, e.g. in the development of new products/channels/business model
Ensure:
Statutory and legislative knowledge is always current in order to resolve customer complaints, to advise the business on corrective solutions to mitigate risks and to improve customer experience whilst complying with governance requirements.
- Adherence to organisational policies, practices and procedures.
- Service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain service, quality and desired outputs across the business process by ensuring compliance with tactical policies, procedures and standards.
- Establish productive operational relationships with key stakeholders in the various channels and administrative teams.
- Develop work routines in line with risk mitigation and compliance plans/schedules in order to manage achievement of goals and objectives.
- Share knowledge on, and participate in the creation of new standards, control systems and procedures to enhance service delivery.
Contribute meaningfully to the successful implementation of tailored first-line compliance management methodologies and frameworks. In collaboration with management, your role will involve:
Developing, implementing, and actively monitoring targeted first-line regulatory risk controls and action plans that drive results.
Establishing and tracking key risk indicators that align with our compliance objectives. - Diligently recording and analysing internal risk events to ensure continuous improvement. - Ensuring full adherence to Old Mutual Insure policies and processes to foster a culture of compliance.
Partnering with the business to conduct thorough regulatory risk control self-assessments that highlight our commitment to excellence.
Addressing system or methodology-related inquiries swiftly to empower the business. - Crafting compliance reports that meet the specific needs of the Retail and Compliance and Risk Control Functions.
Identifying, planning, and executing detailed monitoring themes that elevate our compliance standards.
Preparing comprehensive regulatory reports and timely responses that reflect our proactive approach.
Assisting in compiling and updating our annual compliance plan, compliance management plans, regulatory universe, and other crucial compliance documents.
Maintaining and overseeing the register of all contracts and regulatory risks linked to the business to ensure transparency.
Engaging in Operational Committees and meetings to stay ahead of the risks that impact our operations.
Building and nurturing strong relationships with Retail management to foster collaboration.
Playing an active role in compliance awareness campaigns and training initiatives, reinforcing our commitment to compliance.
Supporting management in projects with expert technical assistance and advice, facilitating the successful development of innovative products, channels, and business models.
