JOB SUMMARY
 
The Special Events Representative is responsible for providing exceptional guest experiences while supporting the daily operation of attractions and special events throughout the Dallas Zoo. Team members assist with attraction operations, guest engagement, crowd management, safety monitoring, event setup and breakdown. This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a professional, friendly, and safety-focused environment for all interactions. This position is budgeted for a maximum of 29 hours per week.
 
 
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Ensures outstanding customer service by creating a welcoming environment, greeting guests, maintaining service standards, and demonstrating knowledge of offerings.
Operate and monitor attractions, and interactive experiences.
Conduct daily opening and closing procedures for assigned attractions and events.
Routinely inspect events and attractions for quality control and report any issues to management. 
Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of special events and seasonal experiences. 
Provide guests with accurate information regarding attractions, exhibits, events, and zoo operations. 
Monitor guest behavior and enforce safety guidelines. 
Report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns to management. 
Support management with crowd control, line management, and guest activities 
Support emergency response procedures when necessary.
Supports Audio Visual Specialist in maintenance and event setups.
Perform other duties as assigned. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous customer service, attraction operations, or event experience preferred but not required
Must have a valid Drivers License 
Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, staff, and volunteers. 
Must be able to safely operate all necessary equipment.
Must have excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills. 
Must be flexible, reliable and a self-motivated team player. 
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to safely operate hand and power tools
Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Must be able to walk, stand for extended time, sit, kneel, stoop, crawl, twist, reach above head, pull bend, climb stairs and ladders and carry up to 40 lbs. 
Must be able to work weekends, holidays and some evenings.
Must be able to actively work in inclement weather.
 
Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment drug screening, background check and TB test.  

Skills Required

  • Previous customer service, attraction operations, or event experience
