ABOUT FIREFLY AEROSPACE

As an end-to-end responsive space transportation company, Firefly Aerospace is on a mission to enable our world to launch, land, and operate in space – anywhere, anytime. Our launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles provide government and commercial customers with full mission services from low Earth orbit to the surface of the Moon and beyond. Headquartered in north Austin, Texas, Firefly is looking for passionate, hardworking innovators to join our team and help fuel our successful trajectory into space.

SUMMARY

We are seeking a Cleanroom Operations Manager to oversee the readiness, maintenance, and continuous improvement of multiple spacecraft integration cleanrooms and controlled environments. This role serves as the primary interface between Facilities, Integration & Test (I&T), Production Operations, and Quality organizations to ensure cleanrooms remain fully mission-capable in support of spacecraft assembly, integration, test, and launch activities.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, operationally focused, and experienced in contamination-sensitive environments. This individual will own cleanroom operations, environmental health, contamination control, asset management, and facility expansion initiatives as spacecraft production scales.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the operational readiness of spacecraft cleanrooms and controlled environments, ensuring facilities remain capable of supporting integration and test activities for multiple spacecraft missions.
  • Monitor and maintain environmental systems including temperature, humidity, airflow, differential pressure, and particle monitoring, while coordinating maintenance and repair activities as required.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve cleanroom procedures, contamination control standards, and operational best practices, including gowning, cleaning, FOD prevention, ESD controls, and material handling processes.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and certification activities to ensure compliance with cleanroom requirements and support contamination investigations and corrective actions.
  • Manage cleanroom consumables, operational supplies, and support equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Own cleanroom asset management, including calibration tracking, preventive maintenance scheduling, recertification requirements, equipment readiness, and lifecycle management of cleanroom tools and support hardware.
  • Coordinate workspace allocation, facility scheduling, and cleanroom configurations to support spacecraft integration priorities and mission schedules.
  • Support cleanroom expansion and infrastructure improvement projects, including facility layout development, workspace optimization, procurement, installation, and operational flow planning.
  • Identify and implement improvements that increase facility utilization, operational efficiency, scalability, and production throughput.
  • Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience supporting cleanroom operations, aerospace production, semiconductor manufacturing, laboratory operations, or spacecraft integration environments.
  • Experience working in contamination-controlled or mission-critical operational environments.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom environmental systems, contamination control practices, and operational compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing operational assets, calibration-controlled equipment, and facility support infrastructure.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting spacecraft Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T).
  • Familiarity with ISO cleanroom standards and contamination control procedures.
  • Experience with HVAC, fluids ground support equipment, environmental monitoring systems, and other cleanroom infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting facility expansion, infrastructure development, or production scaling initiatives.
