Job Description

The Mining Sourcing Officer is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and coordinating the supply of natural mineral resources from approved locations and suppliers. The role involves field sourcing activities, supplier relationship management, sample collection, quality checks, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to the company’s warehouse or processing site.
Identify and source natural mineral resources from approved mining locations and suppliers 
Build and maintain relationships with local miners, suppliers, and aggregators
Conduct market surveys and field visits to sourcing locations
Assist with sample collection, material verification, and basic quality assessment
Support the evaluation of mineral samples using available testing methods and equipment
Monitor sourcing activities to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
Coordinate transportation and delivery of sourced materials to designated locations
Maintain accurate records of sourced materials, suppliers, quantities, and pricing
Prepare sourcing and field activity reports
Support warehouse and operations teams with material reconciliation and inventory updates
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies during field operations
 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or HND in Geology, Mining Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field 
Minimum of 3 years experience in mining, sourcing, procurement, or field operations

Knowledge of: 
Basic knowledge of natural mineral resources and mining operations 
Good negotiation and communication skills
Basic understanding of mineral sampling and material handling
Knowledge of XRF machines and mineral testing is an added advantage
Sourcing and negotiation skills
Vendor Management skills
Reporting and documentation

Proven abilities to:
Communicate sensitively and effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people
Demonstrate respect, openness and genuineness in developing working relationships with others and contribute to positive working relationships in a team and stakeholders.
Analytical, interpretative and decision-making skills.
Good communication and presentation skills.
