As Sourcing Manager, you will collaborate with other regions to drive alignment and build strong and sustainable strategies for own managed categories. This is your opportunity to join Hempel’s global category management team with primary focus on strategy creation, -maintenance and -execution for own categories within EMEA.

Here are some of the focus areas you can look forward to:

  • Deliver savings through ongoing market tracking and in collaboration with other procurement colleagues, R&D function and other collaborators.

  • Continuously challenge opportunities, regionally or cross regionally, to deliver on targets.

  • Lead supplier relationship in an international business environment.

  • Secure internal alignment across regions, on supplier and raw material level.

  • Negotiate and decide strategy with focus on the best cost level, TCO mindset, whilst mitigating potential risk elements, such as quality, availability and sustainability

  • Keep track of market developments

  • Collaborate cross functionally to understand and support Hempel's business requirements

  • Support key elements of Hempel’s overall Operations strategy, e.g., the Sales & Operations Planning process.

The role will be based in Sharjah (UAE) and will report into the Procurement Director-EMEA.

To succeed in the role the following skills and experience is required:

  • Minimum 3 years of category management experience, preferably with global exposure

  • Experience from international sourcing of commodities / chemicals is helpful

  • Proven analytical skills – number crunching and business understanding

  • Skilled in financial analysis, total cost of ownership

  • Strong communication skills – oral and written and Skilled negotiator

  • Fluent in English (oral, written).
