Hexcel is currently seeking a Sourcing Manager M/F based in France - Dagneux (close to Lyon) or Les Avenières (close to Chambéry).
Under the direction of the Hexcel EAP Sourcing Director, the Sourcing Manager leads and coordinates all strategic sourcing activity related to direct material spend categories as assigned in the EU region (and includes select global responsibilities). Spend categories will include carbon and specialty fibers and fabrics. The individual is accountable to deliver company sourcing and supplier management objectives including but not limited to optimizing TCO (total cost of ownership), ensuring supply security, managing compliance adherence and mitigating risk.
Key Responsibilities and Activities :
- Assemble and lead regional or global cross functional teams in the development and execution of robust Category Strategies, leveraging global requirements, engaging with stakeholders to identify business priorities, including identification of key and preferred suppliers and delivering proposals for alternative sourcing.
- Define and propose regional and/or global sourcing strategies and action plans to capture synergies. On a regional and/or global basis, identify through competitive bidding (a “should cost” analysis and/or target costing) potential cost savings/avoidance opportunities, collaborate with supplier to achieve total cost of ownership enhancements and attain overall optimization within assigned spend categories.
- Successfully negotiate new/existing contracts and manage allocated suppliers to relevant KPIs (cost, quality, delivery, sustainability, etc.).
- Develop and support cross regional projects and initiatives as applicable and ensure that global and regional sourcing policies and procedures are implemented as appropriate and followed at all times.
- Define and deploy a comprehensive risk management strategy for assigned categories. Support plant supply chain and procurement teams to deliver Hexcel’s sourcing quality, cost and delivery objectives across assigned spend categories and ensure operational performance metrics are met. (PPM, OTIF, non-conformances, etc.)
- Proactively introduce new products and sources of material in order to develop a competitive advantage on cost, quality and risk driving our multi-sourcing strategy.
- Manage and develop supplier relationships to obtain maximum value for Hexcel’s future; ensure alignment of strategic initiatives and improvement activities of both Hexcel and its suppliers.
- Maintain preferred supplier list and ensures that it is communicated and implemented as required.
- Ensure effective management of existing contracts and agreements.
- Support Supplier Quality teams to drive quality improvement with suppliers and support make vs buy activity to define optimal strategy to best position Hexcel.
Qualifications & Experience :
- University Degree in business, economics, engineering or chemistry
- Purchasing qualification - CIPS. Purchasing expert with minimum 7 years’ experience.
- Market knowledge of the carbon and specialty fibers industry. Technical background related to fibers and fabric reinforcements.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing sourcing strategy and driving change in a similar challenging strategic sourcing environment.
- Aerospace and or Automotive experience an advantage
- Lean/continuous improvement training
- Supplier audit experience
- Result-oriented with strong written and oral communication skills. Leadership. Dynamic. Self-motivated. Skilled negotiator, commercially astute with good interpersonal skills. Strong influencing skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a matrix organization. Problem solving skills; Ability to develop, articulate and gain buy of sourcing strategy from a senior management business team
- Fluent in English
