Scope
We are seeking a Sourcing Leaderto join our growing Human Resources team. This leadership position is key to driving the strategic sourcing of technical talent across all levels of the organization, particularly for roles in the mining, engineering, and technical sectors. The Sourcing Leader will be responsible for leading a team of sourcing specialists, defining sourcing strategies, and ensuring the client attracts and hires top-tier technical professionals. As the Sourcing Leader, you will oversee and execute the client’s sourcing strategies to attract and engage the best technical talent. You will lead a team of sourcing specialists, develop effective recruitment plans, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet both immediate and long-term hiring needs. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, hands-on sourcing expertise, and the ability to inspire and mentor a team to deliver results in a competitive talent market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing Leadership:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for technical and engineering roles, ensuring alignment with the client’s business objectives and growth plans.
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sourcing specialists to ensure high-quality candidate pipelines are maintained and filled in a timely manner.
    • Collaborate closely with hiring managers and senior leadership to understand current and future hiring needs, ensuring sourcing efforts are aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Team Management & Development:
    • Lead the daily activities of the sourcing team, ensuring clear goals and KPIs are set and met.
    • Provide coaching, training, and support to sourcing specialists, helping them to develop their skills and achieve their career goals.
    • Foster a positive and high-performance team culture, emphasizing accountability, collaboration, and results.
  • Advanced Sourcing Techniques & Innovation:
    • Oversee the use of advanced sourcing tools, platforms, and techniques to attract top-tier candidates. This includes leveraging social media, industry events, referrals, direct sourcing, and other creative methods.
    • Continuously explore new sourcing channels, recruitment technologies, and market trends to enhance the client’s talent acquisition strategy.
  • Market Intelligence & Talent Mapping:
    • Conduct market analysis to identify industry trends, competitive talent landscapes, and potential sourcing challenges in the mining and resources sectors.
    • Build and maintain talent maps for key technical roles, anticipating future workforce needs and proactively identifying high-potential candidates.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership and hiring managers regarding all sourcing activities.
    • Prepare regular reports on sourcing activities, market trends, candidate pipelines, and key recruitment metrics, providing actionable insights for leadership teams.
    • Ensure a high level of candidate experience by maintaining effective communication and promoting the client as an employer of choice.
  • Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization:
    • Continuously assess and refine the sourcing process to improve efficiency, candidate quality, and time-to-fill.
    • Work with HR colleagues to integrate sourcing efforts with broader recruitment and onboarding strategies.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience & Background:
    • 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition or recruitment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing a team of recruiters or sourcing specialists.
    • Proven expertise in sourcing for technical and specialized roles, particularly within the mining, engineering, or industrial sectors.
    • Strong track record of building and executing innovative sourcing strategies and driving successful hiring outcomes.
  • Leadership & Management Skills:
    • Experience managing, mentoring, and motivating a team to meet recruitment targets and improve performance.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels.
    • Ability to lead by example, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Technical & Analytical Expertise:
    • Familiarity with a wide range of sourcing tools and recruitment platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, niche job boards, etc.).
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sourcing metrics and recruitment data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
    • Comfort with leading sourcing efforts in a highly competitive and technical talent market.
  • Language & Local Knowledge:
    • Fluent in French (spoken and written) is required; proficiency in English is a plus.
    • Knowledge of the labor market in New Caledonia and the broader Pacific region is highly advantageous.
