Position Summary:
The Sorting Associate plays a vital role in maintaining accurate inventory and efficient warehouse operations by receiving, sorting, and organizing incoming materials. This role is responsible for processing purchase orders, performing proactive inventory counts, and investigating inventory variances. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining inventory accuracy and a clean, safe workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform proactive inventory counts to support warehouse accuracy and replenishment needs.
- Receive and sort inventory items upon arrival, processing associated purchase orders in the system.
- Accurately sort materials into designated sort groups according to FCC, part number, or other product identifiers.
- Break down sort groups and identify individual products using established classification methods.
- Investigate and help resolve inventory variances or discrepancies.
- Perform necessary inventory adjustments in the system based on findings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, and reaching
- Able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Reliable and punctual
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Previous experience in warehouse, sorting, or inventory control roles preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with an understanding of inventory systems and part identification.
Job Type: Full-Time
Expected Hours: M-F, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Pay: $18.00/hour
