Summary of Position:
•Perform complete and focused echocardiographic examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions.
Functions of Position:
•Maintains established departmental policies and procedures.
•Performs sonography procedures; obtains patient history.
•Maintains records of examination date and other pertinent information on patients.
•Checks equipment, supplies, and accessories on a regular basis.
•Maintains equipment in efficient operating order; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
•Maintains order and cleanliness of work area.
•Positions and transports patients comfortably.
•Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
•Attend meetings as required.
Qualifications:
•Graduate of AMA approved school of Medical Imaging preferred. Graduate of CAHEA Accredited Program in Ultrasonography. Must be registered by ARDMS, ARRT, or equivalent organization within 1 year.
