What are Aladdin Data and Solutions Engineering 

  • Data is at the heart of Aladdin and increasingly the ability to consume, store, analyse and gain insight from data has become a key component of our competitive advantage. Aladdin Data team is responsible for the data ecosystem within BlackRock. Our goal is to build and maintain a leading-edge data platform that provides highly available, consistent data of the highest quality for all users of the platform, notably investors, operations teams, and data scientists. We focus on evolving our platform to deliver exponential scale to the firm, powering the future growth of Aladdin. 

  • Solutions Engineering team at BlackRock get to experience working at one of the most recognized financial companies in the world while being part of a broader Aladdin Data software development teams responsible for next generation technologies and solutions. Our engineers design and build large scale analytics data pipelines, process integrations for computation processes, and distributed systems Additionally, they proactively identify process inefficiencies and implementing solutions to enhance productivity and accuracy. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Learning and Understanding: 

Learn different analytics data pipelines within the broader Aladdin platform, including specific analytics like Attribution. 

Understand analytics compute infrastructure such as compute farms and work scheduling. 

Communication and Documentation: 

Craft clear and concise written artifacts, including process flow diagrams and technical process design documents. 

Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, breaking down complex technical or process ideas into digestible components. 

Collaboration and Relationship Building: 

Develop relationships across Aladdin with teams like product, financial engineers, and trading engineers. 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes and technologies. 

Solution Delivery and Integration: 

Conceive, design, implement, test & deploy solutions in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring the existing analytics data pipeline operates the same or better. 

Take ownership of individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables using AGILE methodologies 

Integrate new analytics or analytical calculators into the existing data pipeline or design new analytics data pipelines. 

Conduct regular reviews of process performance and make recommendations for improvements. 

 

Knowledge & Experience: 

Process Engineering and Troubleshooting: 

0-3 years of hands-on process engineering work. 

Experience in troubleshooting, crafting, and delivering solutions across different analytics data domains. 

Passion and Skills: 

Passionate about data, analytics, process engineering, and software engineering concepts. 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail. 

Communication and Collaboration: 

Effective communication and collaboration abilities. 

Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile15. 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive projects to completion. 

Technical Knowledge: 

0-3 years of experience with Python, Java, or similar languages (nice to have). 

Understanding full SDLC process  

Have an understanding & practice in Agile, Scaled Agile or Scrum methods 

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics


 


 

For Wilmington, DE Only the salary range for this position is USD$110,000.00 - USD$138,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
