Summary Generated by Built In
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivatedSolutions Engineer to partner with prospective customers and existing customers on scoping, design, pilots, and deployments for technical physical security and video analytics. As a pivotal member of our team, you will translate customer needs into clear technical plans, lead on-site execution with integrators and IT teams, and ensure deployments are reliable, documented, and easy to operate. The successful candidate blends hands-on field expertise with strong communication, project leadership, and a customer-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead customer discovery to understand goals, constraints, and site conditions; translate requirements into clear deployment plans and success criteria
- Design and validate physical security and video analytics solutions, including camera coverage, placement guidance, and system architecture aligned to customer environments
- Create and maintain accurate facility and camera maps using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit), covering floors, zones, key infrastructure, and naming conventions
- Install, configure, and maintain edge compute and supporting equipment in IDFs or network closets, following best practices and vendor guidance
- Plan, install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (Ethernet, fiber, and related infrastructure) to ensure reliable connectivity
- Organize and manage racks and enclosures with clean cable management, labeling, and documentation to simplify operations and troubleshooting
- Perform end-to-end technical validation (streams, detections, alerts, integrations, and network health); troubleshoot issues and drive rapid resolution
- Coordinate with customer IT, security, and facilities teams on network requirements, firewall rules, DNS/NTP, and access needed for smooth go-lives
- Work with external vendors and integrators to schedule site work, verify workmanship, and ensure deliverables meet requirements and timelines
- Capture field data from drawings, surveys, and site walks; maintain accurate records that reflect real-world conditions and installed state
- Build and maintain customer-facing documentation as the single source of truth, including maps, BOMs, as-builts, installation notes, configurations, and training guides
- Establish and execute QA/QC checks to ensure deployments meet standards, are consistent across sites, and are operationally ready
- Serve as technical lead during pilots and early deployments, providing on-site support, go-live readiness, and post-go-live stabilization
- Deliver clear, practical end-user training for operators and administrators, covering workflows, roles, and escalation paths
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success on demos, technical deep dives, RFP responses, and solution proposals that accurately reflect delivery capabilities
- Provide regular project updates, risks, and next steps to internal and customer stakeholders; recommend continuous improvements based on field learnings
- Stay current on relevant standards, regulations, and deployment best practices to ensure compliant, customer-ready solutions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Security Management, Engineering, Information Technology) or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience delivering customer-facing technical deployments, ideally involving physical security systems, video, networking, or edge compute
- Strong understanding of security technology ecosystems, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and common third-party integrations
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and create or update accurate CAD designs using tools such as AutoCAD or Revit
- Demonstrated project management and prioritization skills, with a track record of delivering pilots and deployments on time and within scope
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfort leading meetings, site walks, and on-site coordination with customers, integrators, and internal teams
- Strong attention to detail, with disciplined documentation, reporting, and quality control practices
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed for customer deployments, pilots, and operational support
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM), PSP, CPP, or relevant network/IT certifications
- Familiarity with security industry standards and codes (e.g., UL, NFPA, ASIS International) and experience with common VMS platforms and camera manufacturers
