Build the data infrastructure for robots operating in the real world.
Robotics is moving from research labs into production across factories, warehouses, vehicles, and field deployments. When robots fail, behave unexpectedly, or need to be improved, engineers rely on data to understand what actually happened.
At Foxglove, we build the observability, visualization, and data infrastructure that makes that possible. Our tools are used by robotics and autonomous systems teams to ingest, store, query, replay, and analyze massive volumes of multimodal sensor data from live systems and from production fleets.
About the roleWe’re looking for a Robotics Engineer who is eager to work closely with customers to help integrate Foxglove seamlessly into their diverse production environments. Our robotics customers span a wide range of stacks, frameworks, and hardware setups, so fluency in robotics concepts, tooling, and workflows is critical to quickly understanding their unique constraints.
In this role, you will work directly with engineering teams to assess system architectures, design integration workflows, and troubleshoot complex challenges during evaluations and onboarding. You will be hands-on with robotics frameworks and Foxglove’s internal tooling to ensure smooth interoperability and high performance at scale. Your insights will directly influence product improvements and help shape the technical direction of our platform.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical solution design: Collaborate with customer engineering teams to understand their robotics stack and design integration workflows tailored to their architecture and requirements.
Demonstrations and evaluations: Build and deliver technical demos and proof-of-concepts that reflect real robotics workflows, highlighting how Foxglove fits into existing systems.
Onboarding and integration: Guide customers from initial setup through successful deployment, ensuring seamless communication between their robotics systems and Foxglove.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues during trials and early deployments, working closely with both the customer and internal engineering teams.
Product feedback: Provide structured feedback and feature requests to Foxglove’s product team based on direct technical engagement with customer systems.
Collaboration with sales: Serve as the technical partner during the pre-sales process, helping translate customer needs into clear technical solutions.
8+ years in robotics engineering, including hands-on experience with frameworks such as ROS or similar middleware.
3+ years of experience in a technical customer-facing role such as solutions engineering, sales engineering, or founder role.
Professional experience in Python, Rust, and C++, with the ability to quickly understand and work within diverse codebases.
Familiarity with real-time data streaming, messaging systems, and robotics visualization tools.
Strong systems-thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex architectures and design effective integration approaches.
Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, small-team environments.
Willingness to travel locally, domestically, and possibly internationally
Bonus points:
Experience with real‑time telemetry, lakehouse formats (Iceberg/Delta), or GPU orchestration (k8s + NVIDIA)
Contributions to robotics or ML open‑source projects
$300 monthly budget towards commuter benefits or building your personal workspace (remote only)
Competitive equity grant in a Series B company
Medical, Dental, Vision, and Term Life insurance coverage at 100% for employees and 75% for dependents
401(k) matching up to 4%
4 weeks vacation, plus holidays and winter break
All expenses paid company off-sites 1-2× per year
Impact: Own growth at a fast-growing, high-leverage moment for the company.
Mission: Accelerate the development of the next generation of robotics and embodied AI.
Team: Work with world-class engineers, designers, and researchers passionate about open-source and developer tools.
Ownership: Drive initiatives end-to-end, with high autonomy and visibility.

What We Do
At Foxglove, we’re building powerful tools to accelerate robotics development. We believe that robotics will have a massive impact on our daily lives and the world economy over the coming decade, and that better quality software tooling will significantly accelerate this trend. Our team’s years of experience working in the robotics and self-driving industries means we are uniquely positioned to bring the advanced tools built in-house at larger companies to the increasing number of startups in this space, across a wide range of verticals.
Our first product, Foxglove Studio, is an open source visualization and diagnosis platform, specifically designed for working with robotics and sensor data. It allows you to easily inspect sensor inputs such as images, point clouds, and time series data, via a highly customizable 2D & 3D environment.
