Full Time | Eligible for Hybrid, Remote
Engineering simulation has never been faster or more capable — and yet the hardest design challenges still outpace what traditional solvers can deliver at speed. Physics AI doesn't replace that foundation. It extends it, giving engineering teams a new capability layer that opens up problems previously constrained by compute time, iteration cost, or workflow bottlenecks. Luminary AI is building that capability layer, and our platform is deployed at several of the most recognized names in aerospace, automotive, and defense industries. We're Series B and growing fast.
About the Role:
Solutions Engineers are the technical backbone of every Luminary AI opportunity. You'll lead pre-sales engagements from first discovery call through pilot, grounded in a specific physics discipline — CFD, in this role — and bring that depth to Physics AI use cases across our customer base. The role is technically heavy: most of your week will be in demos, validation studies, and surrogate model evaluation, with the rest spent on the commercial motion — qualification, scoping, proposals, and executive storytelling.
Who we're looking for:
A PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline, with demonstrated hands-on depth in at least one of: aerodynamics, turbomachinery, multiphase, or combustion. PhD preferred; MS considered with 5+ years of relevant industry experience. Fluency in commercial solvers — Ansys Fluent, Siemens Star CCM+, PowerFLOW, or similar — is expected. Equally important is demonstrated pre-sales experience — you've run technical evaluations, built proof-of-concepts, and know how to scope and close a technical engagement.
Working knowledge of Physics AI and ML surrogates is preferred. Python for scripting and API workflows is expected.
Eligibility: This role is limited to U.S. Persons and is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Skills Required

- 0-3 years of post-PhD experience in CFD, technical sales, or applied research
- Hands-on CFD expertise with commercial or open-source solvers
- Working knowledge of Physics AI and ML surrogates
- Python proficiency for scripting, automation, and API/SDK workflows
- Strong commercial instincts
