About the role
april is searching for a Solutions Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through the entire product lifecycle—from pre-sales solution design to onboarding, ongoing adoption, and technical optimization. This role requires a strong mix of technical depth, consultative communication, and business acumen. You will serve as a trusted advisor for our partners, ensuring they maximize value from april’s platform while navigating complex technical integrations and implementations. Team members residing within the New York City metropolitan area must maintain a minimum on-site presence of three days per week.
Key responsibilities
Partner with Sales to support pre-sales activities, including discovery, solution design, technical demonstrations, and RFP responses
Lead onboarding for new clients and own partner implementations end-to-end, from technical design and integration through testing, launch, and post-launch support
Act as the primary technical advisor for clients, addressing integration challenges, product configurations, and data flows
Provide ongoing technical guidance post-launch, including best practices, troubleshooting, and optimization recommendations
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to represent customer needs and influence roadmap priorities
Create and maintain technical documentation, playbooks, and solution guides for both internal and external stakeholders
Experience
2–4 years of experience in a client-facing technical role managing multiple projects (e.g., Solutions Consultant, Solutions Engineer, Implementation Manager, or Technical Account Manager)
Deep understanding of REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, data integrations, and SaaS platforms, ideally in fintech or tax-related solutions
Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis for troubleshooting
Proven track record guiding clients through pre-sales and post-sales technical lifecycles
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have: Experience in tax technology, payroll, or financial institutions
