About the Role

• Customer is looking for a passionate Solutions Architect in our Product Management Office. So we are seeking especially an experienced GCP Solution Architect to design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in GCP infrastructure, architecture best practices, and cloud-native technologies, ensuring seamless cloud adoption and transformation for our customer.

• The Customer Engineering Team at Customer is responsible for engaging with customers and working across Customer’s products to drive growth and optimize value. As a Solutions Architect, you’ll collaborate with product development, across operational roles, and organizational leadership to refine customer experience, drive product and reliability improvements, and accelerate time to value based on customer feedback, experience, and investigatory/dev work.

What You Will Do

• Evaluate potential client workloads and develop solutions to implement them across various cloud platforms and technologies:

  • Assess client workloads and requirements to identify opportunities for cloud adoption and optimization across various cloud platforms and technologies.

  • Drive technical innovation by leading customer workshops and mapping business problems to viable technical solutions.

• GCP Oriented tasks:

  • Design and implement GCP architectures that align with business and technical requirements, including networking, security, compute, storage, and databases.

  • Provide technical leadership in cloud migration, modernization, and optimization projects, leveraging GCP services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Cloud Spanner.

  • Develop scalable and resilient cloud-native applications using Kubernetes, serverless architectures, and microservices.

  • Conduct performance tuning, cost optimization, and monitoring strategies using GCP-native tools like Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Operations Suite.

  • Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) projects, prototype solutions, and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.

  • Stay up to date with the latest GCP advancements, best practices, and industry trends to drive innovation and efficiency.

• Transform unique customer interactions into standardized processes:

  • Increase your influence by converting IaC configurations (for example) into thoroughly documented and reusable templates.

• Help customers leverage Samsung Private Cloud to create business value:

  • Build relationships with key customer stakeholders to become a trusted advisor on Customer’s product capabilities with experience and expertise across multiple cloud platforms.

  • Develop innovative and scalable cloud solutions that address client needs, leveraging your deep understanding of cloud architectures, services, and best practices.

• Efficiency Improvement: 

  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency in customer support and advocacy, streamlining workflows and enhancing the overall client experience.

• Advocate for customer needs across departments:

  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency in customer support and advocacy.

• Develop a deep understanding of Customer’s technology:

  • Contribute to thought leadership through articles, examples, or presentations that showcase the value and capabilities of Customer’s products and services.

  • Drive technical innovation by staying abreast of emerging cloud technologies, leading workshops, and collaborating with clients to map business problems to viable technical solutions.

What You Need to Be Successful

• 5+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing GCP-based cloud infrastructure.

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent related experience.

• Proficiency in Kubernetes (GKE), Terraform, and cloud networking/security best practices.

• Experience in cloud migration, modernization, and optimization projects using GCP.

• Experience Extensive hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing GCP infrastructure (Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, etc.).

• Strong expertise in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE) and cloud security best practices.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, Deployment Manager, or equivalent tools.

• Experience in networking and security architectures, including VPC design, hybrid cloud connectivity, IAM policies, and compliance frameworks.

• Hands-on experience with data engineering and analytics tools such as BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders.

• Advanced knowledge of Cloud Native design patterns: networking protocols, serverless architecture, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and microservices.

• Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.

• Familiarity with machine learning and AI solutions on GCP.

Bonus Points if You Have

• Proficiency with modern programming languages like Python, Ruby, Go, or Java.

• Hands-on experience with cloud migration strategies, including hosting, platforming, and refactoring legacy systems.

• Expertise in DevOps Methodologies, CI/CD Pipelines, Observability, and automation tools like Terraform or Ansible.

• Advanced knowledge of Cloud Native design patterns: networking protocols, serverless architecture, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and microservices.

• Experience working with executive-level stakeholders, both internal and external.

• Awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies.

• Experience working with global teams ensuring customer success.

• Experience in advocating for customers and their needs while aligning Customer’s organizational goals.

• Experience with influencing cloud architecture strategies within Customer and customer organizations.

• Experience with balancing customer requirements with organizational resource constraints.

• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect Certification or other relevant GCP certifications.
