Job Description:
Do you want to be at the forefront of delivering Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) across the DoD? Parsons is currently seeking a talented and experienced Solutions Archtiect to join our team to provide direct support to the Space Force in CO. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining OPIR systems that provide critical intelligence and surveillance capabilities.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in systems engineering to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of OPIR systems. You will collaborate with talented professionals from diverse backgrounds to solve complex technical challenges and drive innovation in support of our mission critical objectives.
As a Solutions Architect, you will have the chance to work with state-of-the-art technologies, including sensor systems, data processing algorithms, and geospatial analysis tools. You will be at the forefront of shaping the future of OPIR systems, contributing to their design, integration, and enhancement to meet evolving operational needs.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing systems engineering thought leadership and expertise to develop solutions germane to the OPIR needs at hand OPIR systems.
- Design and implement OPIR system architectures that meet operational requirements and performance objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop international systems integration solutions
- Focuses on DoD 5000.02 artifacts and documentation to perform requirements analysis, including decomposition of high-level requirements into artifacts assignable during Agile program increments and sprints
- Apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems lifecycle phases: concept, development, production, utilization, support, and retirement
- Interact with project teams regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts
- Work closely with project managers to develop project plans and timelines, and monitor progress to ensure on-time delivery
- Responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288, to include: Technical Process Area, Enterprise Process Area, and Agreement Process Area
- Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation, such as Systems Engineering Plans, initial capability documents, requirements specifications, and interface control documents
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to international systems integration and propose solutions to ensure project success
- Develop and maintain documentation, including system diagrams, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to OPIR systems and recommend innovations for continuous improvement.
- Applying your systems engineering expertise on requirements analysis, concept/technology development, architecture analysis, risk assessments, and test & evaluation for a wide range of ground support to space capabilities
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- An Active TS clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering roles
- Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools for modeling complex systems throughout the systems engineering lifecycle
- Experience in systems of systems engineering of complex systems, with the ability to analyze and optimize interactions between interconnected subsystems
- Experience performing design or development with cross-disciplined engineering teams
- Experience using agile framework development methods and processes
- Broad systems engineering experience including early concept development, requirements analysis, design, test and evaluation, and risk assessment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to interact effectively with and lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams, including industry and government sponsors
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience working within Space Systems Command
- 4+ years of OPIR experience
- Advanced degree in systems engineering
- Experience integrating models across multiple software applications to perform detailed analysis by leveraging data from several engineering domains
- Active TS/SCI Clearance

Salary Range:
$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
