For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Sell Whole Health Solutions services to new clients in the employer market as the solution sales and subject matter expert for clinical health solutions
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for assigned annual sales revenue goals and maintain a robust, qualified new business pipeline in partnership with Market Growth Executives and client teams
  • Bring deep clinical, product, or operational expertise across the Whole Health Solutions portfolio, including musculoskeletal, transplant and complex care, oncology, NICU, focused claims review, women's health, metabolic and cardiometabolic solutions, and strategic partnerships
  • Translate clinical models, evidence, workflows, networks, analytics, and member journeys into clear employer value stories tied to affordability, quality, access, outcomes, and experience
  • Lead strategic conversations with employer benefit leaders, procurement, and other internal and external stakeholders to identify needs and configure solutions to meet client needs
  • Serve as the primary solution authority throughout the sales cycle, including demonstrations, clinical and operational deep dives, RFI/RFP responses, solution design, diligence, pricing inputs, contracting support, and implementation handoff
  • Develop consultative relationships and serve as a credible trusted advisor to employer and business leaders
  • Partner with clinical, product, actuarial, analytics, finance, legal, implementation, and operations teams to develop differentiated, executable proposals
  • Develop and present business cases, ROI narratives, clinical outcome stories, and responses to complex client questions
  • Maintain current knowledge of market trends, employer priorities, regulatory considerations, competitive offerings, and Optum product roadmaps
  • Provide structured market and client feedback for product enhancement and new product development
  • Manage opportunities through disciplined pipeline reviews and accurate, timely CRM entry
  • Communicate issues, concerns, and problems in a solution-oriented manner and work independently as a strong team player in a fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare sales selling clinical employer clinical programs and/or consultative solution healthcare sales
  • 10+ years of experience with clinical practice specialty care, health services product/solution leadership, utilization management, care management, specialty networks and/or complex condition programs
  • Experience with digital tools, or related clinical solutions and took out
  • Experience supporting and/or leading complex sales cycles, solution design, demonstrations, and RFI/RFP responses
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with health plans and navigate complex, matrixed organizations
  • Proven solid presentation skills across face-to-face, webinar, and phone-based client interactions
  • Proven client-focused orientation that balances client objectives with enterprise priorities
  • Proven superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated consultative approach and strong team orientation
  • Demonstrated depth in multiple complex-care or specialty domains and the ability to discuss clinical models, operations, data, outcomes, and financial value with employer market experts
  • Willingness and ability to travel a minimum of 25% regularly and during peak review season potentially up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active or previously active clinical license or advanced credential, such as RN, NP, PA, PharmD, PT, OT, MSW, RD, MD, DO, or comparable credential
  • 15+ years of combined clinical, employer market, product, operations, consulting, or solution sales experience
  • Health plan experience with a national, regional, or local organizations, supporting the employer market
  • Deep knowledge of employer affordability trends, clinical programs, and benefit design
  • Proven strong professional reputation within the health care industry and access to senior consultants and employer decision makers
  • Willingness and ability to travel a minimum of 25%

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $90,000 - $195,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
