This role spans Payroll, HR, ERP, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing Systems, supporting Boeing's aerospace and defence services environment. You will apply Boeing's Application Development & Sustainment methodology and enterprise architecture principles to drive digital transformation, system integration, platform development, and custom software solutions that align with business goals and compliance requirements.
Due to the International nature of the role and business as a whole, there may be the requirement to support after hours meetings and calls, however flexibility is encouraged. Some domestic travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop fit-for-purpose, technically sound solution architectures that optimise business value, comply with Boeing's architecture standards, and support digital transformation across corporate and operational systems.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document solution requirements, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and project objectives.
  • Lead feasibility studies and business cases, supporting solution implementation, testing, and transition to operations, while also developing current and future-state technical architecture documents.
  • Work closely with technical teams, including developers, to conduct proof-of-concept work, validate potential solutions, and establish new architecture patterns.
  • Apply deep ERP knowledge (Finance, HR, Supply Chain) and expertise in Engineering and Quality Systems to guide solution design and integration with business processes and data models.
  • Provide strategic guidance across diverse platforms and enterprise technologies, including cloud environments such as Azure/M365 and AWS, while supporting the development of long-term product and system roadmaps.
  • Identify and review existing application profiles to define upgrade and/or replacement paths, confirming and developing architectural documentation as needed.
  • Inform roadmaps for addressing application risks and support decision-making on solution architecture for current and emerging business requirements, with a focus on business risk remediation and lifecycle road-mapping.
  • Mentor development teams on architecture best practices, ensuring solutions meet security, scalability, and performance requirements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of architecture standards within Boeing's Global IT community.
  • Participate in architecture compliance reviews and manage waivers in accordance with governance mandates.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • 5-7 years' experience as a Solution Architect or similar role, preferably in aerospace, defence, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.
  • Proven track record in planning, designing, developing, and implementing complex IT solutions involving system integration, platform development, and custom software.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure/M365/AWS), ERP systems (e.g., Oracle eBusiness / SAP), and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Experience with Enterprise Cloud environments, governance frameworks and tooling
  • Understanding of Cloud Economics and FinOps concepts
  • Solid understanding of cyber and information security principles and their application in IT environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative, practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of working effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-grade application development methodology or equivalent software development and sustaining frameworks.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Relevant architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments is advantageous.
