Cloud Solutions Architect - Technical Innovation and Customer Advocacy

Customer powers the global cloud infrastructure and developer platform providing back-end services for Samsung's billions of devices. Customer's data center footprint is within 100ms latency to 70% of the world's population, while our multi-cloud, Kubernetes-based developer platform extends our reach to additional resource regions. We're operating at hyperscale to power workloads that bring capability and delight to Samsung's employees and customers.

Job Summary

Customer is looking for a passionate Solutions Architect in our Product Management Office. The Customer Engineering Team at Customer is responsible for engaging with customers and working across Customer’s products to drive growth and optimize value. As a Solutions Architect, you’ll collaborate with product development, across operational roles, and organizational leadership to refine customer experience, drive product and reliability improvements, and accelerate time to value based on customer feedback, experience, and investigatory/dev work.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Evaluate potential client workloads and develop solutions to implement them across various cloud platforms and technologies:
    • Assess client workloads and requirements to identify opportunities for cloud adoption and optimization across various cloud platforms and technologies.
    • Drive technical innovation by leading customer workshops and mapping business problems to viable technical solutions.
  • Transform unique customer interactions into standardized processes: Increase your influence by converting IaC configurations (for example) into thoroughly documented and reusable templates.
  • Help customers leverage Samsung Private Cloud to create business value:
    • Build relationships with key customer stakeholders to become a trusted advisor on Customer’s product capabilities with experience and expertise across multiple cloud platforms.
    • Develop innovative and scalable cloud solutions that address client needs, leveraging your deep understanding of cloud architectures, services, and best practices.
  • Efficiency Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency in customer support and advocacy, streamlining workflows and enhancing the overall client experience.
  • Advocate for customer needs across departments: Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency in customer support and advocacy.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Customer’s technology:
    • Contribute to thought leadership through articles, examples, or presentations that showcase the value and capabilities of Customer’s products and services.
    • Drive technical innovation by staying abreast of emerging cloud technologies, leading workshops, and collaborating with clients to map business problems to viable technical solutions.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent related experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in cloud computing, including architecture design, solution engineering, and consulting roles.
  • Proficiency with modern programming languages like Python, Ruby, Go, or Java.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud migration strategies, including hosting, platforming, and refactoring legacy systems.
  • Expertise in DevOps Methodologies, CI/CD Pipelines, Observability, and automation tools like Terraform or Ansible
  • Advanced knowledge of Cloud Native design patterns: networking protocols, serverless architecture, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and microservices.
  • Experience working with executive-level stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Experience working with global teams ensuring customer success
  • Experience in advocating for customers and their needs while aligning Customer’s organizational goals
  • Experience with influencing cloud architecture strategies within Customer and customer organizations
  • Experience with balancing customer requirements with organizational resource constraints. 
  • Must be bilingual in English and Korean
