Software Test Engineer III – Ordering & Services
Job Overview
We are seeking a Software Test Engineer III to support quality across our Ordering domain. This role is responsible for validating functionality, reliability, and release readiness for a desktop application and related microservices. This role supports systems that process Protected Health Information (PHI) and requires strict adherence to healthcare data privacy and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute test plans, test cases, and automated tests for new and existing features
Validate end-to-end workflows across desktop UI, APIs, and service integrations
Perform functional, integration, regression, and release validation testing
Investigate defects, document findings, and collaborate with engineers on resolution
Support production release quality through smoke testing and post-deployment verification
Partner with Product and Engineering to clarify requirements and improve testability
Maintain quality documentation and contribute to continuous testing improvements
Mentor peers and share domain knowledge across the team
Required Qualifications
Experience working in PHI-sensitive or regulated environments with strong data-handling discipline
Must be U.S.-based and authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or equivalent practical experience
Experience in software testing across UI, API, integration, and regression scopes
Hands-on automation and test tooling experience
Strong defect investigation and debugging skills in multi-system environments
Experience with source control and issue tracking tools (e.g., Git, Jira)
Experience with Java/Groovy and related testing frameworks (Spock, WireMock, JUnit)
Experience with GraphQL API automation and REST API testing (e.g., Rest Assured)
Experience with messaging systems and service orchestration (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, and similar) and SQL-based data validation
Preferred Qualifications
Experience testing desktop applications and microservices in regulated domains
Experience with test data management in shared lower environments
Familiarity with performance and scalability testing
Experience with modern UI testing frameworks (Cypress preferred)
Experience with Java Swing applications
Experience with AWS
