The Product Support IT team builds and supports global web applications and tools that assist in customer service. Our products include self-serve applications like support.garmin.com as well as assisted help via phone/emails/chat.

Our systems help potential and existing customers with order management, returns/exchanges, assisted buys, product manuals, product FAQs, etc. We also own and support the garmin.forums.com community site. We build many of our internal and customer facing web applications and also use vendor products to support some of our services.

With great projects comes great responsibilities. Our complex architecture and consolidated teams are the key points why you should want to work with us. As a software automation engineer, you will be involved in writing and execution of automated tests for Garmin applications.

We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require 5 days in the office each week. 

Responsibilities:

  • Testing newly developed software, features, and recording any issues/improvements
  • Developing and running effective tests to ensure product’s stability and performance
  • Providing information to development teams to support their bug fixing
  • Create documentation and select appropriate testing techniques and methods necessary for product validation, according to requirements

Requirements
  • Must demonstrate experience in writing automated tests
  • Good grasp of OOP principles (preferably Java, but any other OOP language will do)
  • Can document, troubleshoot and isolate problems encountered during testing
  • At least 3 years of experience in working with web applications
  • BSc in Computer Science or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Familiarity working in an Agile environment
  • Has strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Technologies used for testing:

  • Postman, Playwright with Java or similar tools
  • REST test framework
  • Jenkins
  • Database servers (ability to find deadlocks, simple queries), troubleshooting logs
  • BrowserStack

Would be a plus:

  • ISTQB Foundation or equivalent
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (Jenkins, TeamCity)
