Position Description
The Software Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring software products meet defined requirements and quality standards. This role plans and executes testing, identifies and documents defects, validates functionality and performance, and contributes to continuous improvement of QA practices. The position works closely with Product Management, Development, and Customer Support teams to ensure high-quality, reliable releases.
Position Responsibilities
- Testing & Data Validation
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, scripts, and supporting artifacts with clear traceability to requirements.
- Perform manual and automated functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Create, execute, and analyze SQL queries to validate data integrity, business rules, and system behavior.
- Investigate data-related defects and inconsistencies across systems and environments.
- Document defects clearly and work with Development teams through resolution and verification.
- Collaboration & Product Understanding
- Partner with Product Management and Development to understand requirements and participate in design reviews, with a focus on testability and data impacts.
- Work with Customer Support to reproduce, analyze, and validate customer-reported issues.
- Build working knowledge of related products and integrations to assess cross-product impacts.
- Process & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups, providing QA risk and status input.
- Contribute to improvements in testing practices, tooling, and documentation.
- Occasional Duties
- Participate in requirements gathering to ensure legislative, technical, and customer needs are understood.
- Review legislative changes and assess impacts on existing software functionality.
- Perform related business analysis tasks as needed.
Job Requirements
- Required
- U.S. citizen based in Tallahassee, FL.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience as a QA Analyst or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of QA principles and Agile software development.
- Demonstrated ability to write and use SQL queries for testing, troubleshooting, and data validation.
- Experience using test management and defect tracking tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex, data-driven issues.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
- High integrity and alignment with the company’s mission.
- Availability for occasional evening or weekend work to support releases.
- Preferred
- Experience testing web-based applications.
- Exposure to test automation frameworks

Occasional periods of travel are required. Due to the requirement to travel to customers’ sites employees must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license. This is a salaried position and may require work beyond the normal 40 hour work week to accomplish the job duties. This position is classified as exempt and covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Work Environment & Physical Demands
VR Systems is a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee will be required to work extended hours. The employee is frequently required to sit for long period of times and must have the ability to lift 35 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
