Your mission:

As a Software Product Owner (PO), you will play a key role in translating customer and internal stakeholder needs into clear, actionable plans for our software development teams. You will gather and clarify requirements, establish priorities, and transform stakeholder needs into well-defined development plans.

Working closely with development, UI/UX, and architecture teams, you will conceptualize solutions, define and prioritize work for each development cycle, and manage the development effort through implementation. You will provide direction and clarification throughout the development process to ensure solutions meet customer needs, product objectives, and technical requirements. 

 

In this role you will:  

  • Define product positioning & value proposition 
  • Represent customer, stakeholder, and market needs throughout the product development lifecycle 
  • Maintain accountability for project timelines, milestones, risks and delivery commitments 
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the development teams  
  • Balance architecture, technical design, and business needs 
  • Own product messaging and ensure consistency across internal and customer-facing communications  
  • Define, prioritize, and manage development work using JIRA and other project management tools  
  • Plan and execute successful product launches in collaboration with key stakeholders  
  • Drive product adoption, engagement, and continuous improvement  
  • Develop and maintain customer-facing product content and supporting materials 
  • Monitor competitive and market trends to identify emerging customer needs, opportunities, and potential threats 
  • Participate in all Agile Scrum activities, including triage, backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily scrums, reviews, and retrospectives 
  • Develop a strong understanding of our product marketplace and use those insights to anticipate opportunities and drive product innovation 

 

This role might be right for you if you have: 

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner or in a similar product-focused role. 
  • 2+ years of software development experience, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle. 
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Product Management, or a related field.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments and partnering closely with software development teams. 
  • Strong product judgment, with the ability to evaluate competing needs, set priorities, and make thoughtful decisions that deliver customer and business value. 
  • A collaborative approach and experience bringing cross-functional teams and stakeholders together to build alignment, shape product roadmaps, and move initiatives forward. 
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Experience with project management; PMP certification would be considered an asset.
