About Us:
Culture’s mission is to make bioprocess development and scale-up as fast and easy as scaling software. Since our founding in 2016, our work has been to enable biotech and biopharma companies to accelerate the development of their therapeutic targets to get to the clinic – and potentially patients - faster and easier. In accomplishing that purpose, the team at Culture is just one step away from impacting patient well-being and positive health outcomes.
Culture’s first offering enabled biopharma, biotechnology, and synthetic biology companies to run their bioprocessing R&D in the cloud and we continue to innovate with both hardware and software into other areas with additional offerings.
The Opportunity:
Culture Biosciences is seeking a collaborative, hands-on Product Manager to shape how scientists interact with our cutting-edge bioreactors and software.
In this role, you will help define how our software makes our cutting-edge bioreactors intuitive and seamless for customers to use. Working closely with cross-functional teams including software, hardware and design, you will ensure our software enhances the user experience and supports scientists in achieving groundbreaking results. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative biotech products as part of a dynamic and mission-driven team.
This year is pivotal for Culture as we rebuild our software tools and launch an entirely new offering. Your contributions will directly shape how scientists innovate and scale their work, and you’ll be instrumental in preparing for the next generation of our products (V2!). This role will mainly be focused on developing our enterprise cloud software but will also require close collaboration with the hardware team developing our new bioreactors.
At Culture, we value lifting others up, trying new things, thinking like owners, and committing to reliability. This role embodies those values as you collaborate across teams to create intuitive, reliable tools that scientists love to use.
What you'll do:
- Build products customers love by partnering closely with engineering to deliver intuitive, high-impact features.
- Conduct user research to gather feedback and translate customer needs into actionable product requirements.
- Collaborate with design to create user-friendly screens and workflows that bring product ideas to life.
- Review bugs and evaluate them to identify opportunities for new features or requirements that improve the product.
- Rapidly prototype, validate, and iterate on ideas to improve the user experience.
- Advocate for product decisions using a strong mix of customer insights, product intuition, and available data.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration of software and bioreactors.
About you:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
- 4–6 years of professional experience, preferably in a technical field such as software, hardware, or biotechnology.
- 2–4 years as a Product Manager, with a track record of launching impactful products and bringing new ideas to market.
- Relentless focus on understanding customer needs and delivering products they love.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Skilled in developing features for complex software products, with a hands-on approach to testing and quality assurance.
- Strong communicator, adept at explaining complex decisions and balancing detail with strategic vision.
- Excited to take ownership of initiatives, bring new ideas to life, and thrive in an environment that values creativity and innovation.
- Experience in SaaS, Life Sciences, Startups or other highly technical domains is a plus.
In return, we offer a supportive environment. Our company values are:
- Lift others up. Because we all do better when we help each other succeed.
- Commitment to reliability. Our teammates and customers are counting on us.
- Think like an owner. Progress is driven by teams who care.
- Try new things. Big innovations start with small ideas and actions

What We Do
Culture’s mission is to make bioprocess development and scale-up as fast and easy as scaling software. Towards this aim, Culture’s first offering enables biopharma, biotechnology, and synthetic biology companies to run their bioprocessing R&D in the cloud. Clients design, manage, and analyze bioprocess experiments in Culture’s Console web application. Culture’s offering enables customers to focus on designing and improving their process versus spending time and effort building out their own high-throughput process development laboratory. While customers remotely observe the process and analyze data, the experiments are executed in Culture’s cloud bioreactor facility in South San Francisco. The facility is enabled by Culture’s proprietary 250mL and 5L single-use bioreactor technology and software systems.
At Culture, we combine our passions for biomanufacturing, engineering, and operations to build new solutions that make bioprocess development and scale-up faster.
