Role Description

Working as a dynamic engineer that ensure the availability and utility of software applications deployed on EnOS platform. The job scope can involve application monitoring, respond to alerts, answer user queries, work with dev team to provide permanent fixes to issues. Since most of these applications are external facing, there is also rising need to handle communications to external customers and partners.

This role requires individuals who are comfortable with the responsibility of running the software used as entire business. As your contribution and knowledge grows, your exposure to IOT fields and business domains will grow.

Responsibilities

As L2 support, the focus of the job scope is to ensure stable production environment.

  • Analyse issues encountered by users and provide viable workaround, if any.

  • Scan through application log files to debug the issue encountered.

  • Escalate issues with no viable workarounds following SOP.

  • Document, replicate a production issue with L3 support team, and follow up with L3 team for a permanent fix.

  • Work with other teams, internally to Envision, or with other vendors, even with client parties, to resolve issues according to SLA

  • With guidance from Ops lead and L3 support, deploy application fixes into production.

  • Follow up with L3 support, other vendors, even client parties, to find root cause of certain issue, and document in given template

Requirement

Must Have

  • 3+ years as software engineer, with at least 2+ years in maintenance role

  • Understand Containerized software deployment pattern (e.g. Kubernetes)

  • Basic Java, Javascript, Python developer skill

  • Understanding of shell script is required. No intense scripting but debugging existing script will be required.

  • Understanding of basic concept of RDBMS and TSDB

  • Able to analyse monitoring tools

  • Problem solving mindset, able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Operations mindset, able to provide viable workaround and follow up with L3 for issue replication and permanent fixes

  • Able to follow standard operating procedure (SOP) and trouble shooting guide, to debug production issues and deploy issue fixes into production.

Good to have

  • Good communication skills, able to handle client comments and internal comments

  • Documenting issue workaround/resolution and contribute to operations knowledge base

  • Basic understanding of cyber security is a bonus

  • Basic understanding of ITIL guidelines is a bonus
