Software Engineer — Nashville
$7,000/mo · 1099 · Mon–Thu in office, Fridays WFH · Marathon Village office
We're Wayve Payments — an ISO in merchant services. We built an internal system called Residual Flow that ingests processor statements, calculates agent commissions, and runs monthly payouts. It's ~90% to MVP. The engineer who built it passed away recently, and we need to finish the last mile and open it to our first external beta customer.
Beyond that, this becomes a real product — we sell to other ISOs and agent offices, of which there are thousands who currently pay $2K+/mo for legacy tools they hate. The person we hire owns the codebase, ships the MVP, and grows with the product.
Stack: Xano (backend) + WeWeb (frontend, exported to source) + JS/TS. If you haven't touched Xano/WeWeb, you'll pick them up — the patterns are standard.
What you'll do first 90 days:
- Take ownership of the Residual Flow codebase
- Close the last known bugs (transaction counts, duplicate revenue items, dashboard structure)
- Ship MVP 1 to our first external beta customer
- Pair with founder (in person) on product direction
You're a fit if:
- You've shipped real products end-to-end (I care more about what you've built than how long you've been building)
- Ownership mentality — you don't need tickets, you need context
- Comfortable in an early-stage environment (small team, real responsibility, direct founder access)
- Nashville-based — in office Mon-Thu, WFH on Fridays
Comp:
- $7,000/mo, 1099
- 3-month trial. If it's working, we lock in longer-term.
- Direct founder access, real ownership of a product going to market — you're the engineer on Residual Flow, not one of five
