What will I be doing?
  • People Leadership & Growth: Look after up to 2 cross-functional teams of engineers (up to 10 direct reports), nurturing engineering talent, encouraging personal development, and managing performance to ensure alignment with delivery objectives.
  • AI-Informed Team Development: Actively develop your teams’ AI capabilities — identifying skill gaps, sponsoring learning, and embedding AI-assisted practices into day-to-day engineering. You’ll be the bridge between Kaluza’s AI ambitions and your teams’ day-to-day reality.
  • Client Engagement & Value Delivery: Work closely with major partners like ENGIE, alongside product managers and client success teams, to translate complex client requirements into technical reality and ensure high-value delivery.
  • Technical Guidance: Leverage your technical background to contribute to architecture and implementation discussions, ensuring systems are robust, scalable, and resilient — and that AI tooling is thoughtfully integrated where it adds genuine value.
  • Strategic Roadmap Execution: Drive the technical roadmap and strategy for your domain, steering both the technical and product vision to ensure your team’s products are highly successful.
  • Operational Excellence: Champion ways of working across your teams, eliminating engineering blockers, optimising delivery, and ensuring AI adoption translates into measurable productivity and quality improvements.
About YouIdeally you'll have/be:
  • Engineering Management Experience: Proven experience in an Engineering Management or related leadership role guiding high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams.
  • AI Leadership: Experience leading teams through AI adoption, whether introducing LLM-powered tooling, AI-assisted workflows, or a broader cultural shift toward AI-informed engineering. You know how to move a team from curious to capable.
  • Client-Facing & Relationship Mastery: Strong track record of developing and maintaining positive client relationships, actively listening to needs, providing transparent communication, and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Modern Technical Architecture: An excellent understanding of distributed architectures and event-based systems (e.g., Kafka), with enough hands-on background to guide senior engineers confidently.
  • Agile Frameworks: A fundamental and practical understanding of Agile and Lean software development practices.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating closely with senior leaders, product managers, and external technical teams.
What will set you apart:
  • LLM Integration at Team Scale: Hands-on familiarity with LLM APIs and agentic workflow patterns, with experience helping engineering teams move beyond personal experimentation into shared, production-ready AI practices.
  • Knowledge Amplifier: Experience acting as a connector between teams — ensuring AI learnings, patterns, and wins don’t stay siloed but spread across an engineering organisation.
  • Domain Expertise: Background in enterprise billing, finance and ledger tooling, payments systems integration, or ecommerce.
  • Client-Delivery: Experience on consulting, SaaS onboarding, or client-delivery technical programmes where engineering quality directly impacts client relationships.
