The Space Mission Systems (SMS) Space Software Products organization requires functional & technical management/leadership for the Flight Software Engineering Team located in El Segundo, CA. This team provides fully qualified embedded real time software and support necessary to execute the needs of our satellite programs across two major areas of SMS (Government and Commercial Satellite Systems).
The Flight Software Team's core responsibility is to perform the full lifecycle development form software requirements to Final Qualification test in accordance with the SOW and company policy and procedures. Responsibilities to be performed:
- Perform Level 2 IPT duties executing on program scope, schedule, and cost
- -Perform Cost Account Management (CAM) duties providing, status, variances analysis, risk identifications, and recovery plan when needed.
- -Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering.
- Develops and executes process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
- Set goals, develop employees, and perform annual performance reviews
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at El Segundo, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor's degree
- Active US Secret Clearance
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role (team leader, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience).
- 10+ years of experience in full software development life-cycle
- 5+ years of experience leading a software agile program
- 2+ years performing cost account management duties
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with leading/managing software teams developing embedded flight software for complex space systems
- Experience as a manager of > 10 direct report engineers
- Experience working with multidiscipline engineering teams (e.g., systems/test engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers) and integrating/testing software within complex systems
- Experience with the software development lifecycle process and procedures
- Experience with DevSecOps / Continuous Integration (CI) process and tooling (GitLab)
- Experience with EVMS within an Agile construct
- Experience with managing opportunities and risk
- Experience with acquiring and managing IR&D, Capital and OH funding
