NEP is currently looking for a Software Engineer Manager to lead high performance teams of specialist software engineers. These teams are primarily focussed on:

  • integrating software solutions from vendors into our NEP Platform
  • integrating broadcast devices into our TFC Platform through standardized protocols

This role is based at our state of the art Andrews Hub in Southbank, Melbourne. It can occasionally require weekend or evening work in line with the scale of live global events we provide services for.

The position

We are expanding our teams and the services we currently offer and need you to help us.
You already have experience as a Senior Lead or Manager and have a passion for ensuring that the teams deliver reliable quality work, on time. As such, you understand and assist in removing impediments for your teams and ensuring they can be responsible for the success of our products.

You have a technical background that enables you to challenge or promote ideas and implementations within and across teams. You can demonstrate an understanding for challenges working large scale live events.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
  • Provide Feedback and Identify opportunities of growth for team members.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Technical Leadership to ensure smooth delivery of services.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Security teams to identify improvements and optimisations.
  • Highlight and suggest improvements in shortcomings in services, policies or process.
  • Review and assess technical work within the team and provide feedback.
  • Lead or facilitate cross team initiatives within NEP.
  • Engage and co-ordinate with Vendors and Suppliers for integrations and joint projects.

Required skills and attributes:
  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years in an Engineering Role
  • 1+ years in a Lead or Management Position
  • Team Building
  • Trustworthy Team Player
  • Quick Learner
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Experience or deep understanding of critical real-time services

Skills Required

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
