This role requires on-site presence in Ipswich (3 days per week)
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join our Journey Team. Journey are responsible for integrating the regulatory and account management systems that power our Sports and iGaming platform—critical services that keep our global operation running smoothly and securely.
As a SEM, you will lead a team of talented Software Engineers based in Ipswich. You’ll play a pivotal role in defining platform and technology strategy while being accountable for the delivery, performance, and reliability of the services your teams build. You will also drive the growth, coaching, and development of the engineering group.
What you’ll do- Develop people and foster a strong team culture through coaching, mentoring, and leadership.
- Partner closely with the Talent Acquisition team to hire and onboard engineering talent.
- Grow the technical expertise and capabilities of your engineering team.
- Guide the team in improving the performance, resilience, and scalability of core systems.
- Collaborate with engineering groups across the wider organisation to solve platform‑wide challenges across Sports and iGaming.
- You have a solid engineering background with strong understanding of scalable, high‑availability systems.
- You are passionate about transformational leadership and committed to developing both people and high‑performing teams.
- You bring strong programming experience in Java, C#, or Go.
- You apply agile and lean principles effectively to solve problems at any scale.
- You’re pragmatic, choosing the right tool for the job rather than following the hype.
- You are an excellent communicator and presenter, able to engage engineering and non‑technical stakeholders effectively.
