The Role

Job title: Software Engineering Manager

Location: Edinburgh, Bristol, London (Including Hybrid)

Salary: £80,000 - £108,000

Reporting to: Head of Engineering

Kaluza reimagines energy to bring net-zero within everyone’s reach. The Kaluza Platform enables energy utilities to unlock the full value of a radically changing energy system and propel us to a future where renewable energy is sustainable, affordable and accessible for all.

From automating and simplifying core operations including billing to create a lower-cost, higher-engagement experience, to optimising energy usage across smart devices in the home, we turn tough challenges into win-win-win outcomes for customers, suppliers and the energy system.

We champion a flexible, hybrid work approach and we find that teams often benefit from coming together in the office at least once a week to foster connection and accelerate progress.

Outside of these collaborative opportunities, we aim to be as flexible as possible to balance work with life. As a company we come together annually for our conference and end of year celebrations!

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

You'll be joining the Kaluza Technology community. What will I be doing?

  • You’ll nurture the engineering talent in your teams, encouraging personal development, managing performance and ensuring everyone is aligned with product delivery objectives.
  • You’re unlikely to be particularly hands-on with the code, but will have enough technical experience to be able to contribute to and guide technical discussions, bringing the big picture context.
  • You’ll work closely with the product managers of your teams to provide guidance to your teams to ensure the products they’re building are appropriately observable, reliable and scalable.
  • You’ll work closely with engineers in your team and staff engineers to contribute to and drive the technical roadmap for your area.
You’ll be a champion of operational excellence in your area and help your team be the best they can be.
  • You’ll find the right channels to remove impediments and unblock your team to help them meet their product delivery objectives.
  • You’ll work with your colleagues as part of the engineering leadership team to continuously improve our company.
