Reports To 

VP of Engineering

Summary 

AxisCare is hiring a full-time Software Engineering Manager to join our 100% remote team.

You’ve been a software engineer so you’re well-versed in what it takes to build software, but your true calling is creating the environment where engineers can thrive, succeed, and grow. Instead of the software itself, your job is building high-functioning teams and growing your people, making sure they are equipped to do great work, now and in the long term.

That’s critical as we scale up, and it’s what gets you excited to start work every day.

What We’re Looking For 

• Sets a high standard of excellence and leads by example

• A great writer, which is especially important given the asynchronous and technically precise nature of our work

• Able to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences

• A systems thinker, able to look beyond the element at hand to consider the broader system and the dynamics and interactions at play within it

• A patient collaborator, eager to help engineers think through tough problems and teach them to fish rather than just giving it to them

• Technically proficient, able to provide engineering guidance but happily recognizes they’re not the smartest engineer in the room. Eager to collaborate with excellent engineers to find the best solutions.

• Able to coach engineers to balance the tension in shipping software that is both valuable to the business now and easy to change later

You’re able to work remotely and live in the Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones in the US. You must be qualified to work in the United States. 

What We’d Be Excited to Find 

• Experience with PHP, React, and AWS

• Familiarity building and maintaining HIPAA-compliant software

Working Conditions

• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals. 

Compensation and Equipment

• Salary (TBD based on job experience and skill level)
