The Space Mission Systems (SMS) Space Software Products organization requires a Software Engineering Manager for the Flight Software Engineering Team located in El Segundo, California.
This team provides fully qualified embedded real time software and support necessary to execute the needs of our satellite programs across two major areas of SMS (Government and Commercial Satellite Systems).
The Flight Software Team's core responsibility is to perform the full lifecycle development form software requirements to Final Qualification test in accordance with the SOW and company policy and procedures
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform Level 2/3 IPT duties executing on program scope, schedule, and cost
- Perform Cost Account Management (CAM) duties providing, status, variances analysis, risk identifications, and recovery plan when needed
- Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering
- Develops and executes process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Set goals, develop employees, and perform annual performance reviews

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
- 5+ years of experience in full software development life cycle
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with cost accounting
- Experience with Technical Leadership
- Experience in embedded software development
- Experience in satellite domain

Summary Pay Range: $171,700 - $232,300
