College Fizz communities feature a private, moderated feed of anonymous posts from verified students, making it the most entertaining and authentic way to experience student life. On Global Fizz, all of Gen Z can connect across their shared experiences and identities.
Users can ask questions, share memes, post polls, and direct message others—all while keeping control of their identity. Safety, inclusion, and authenticity are core to everything we build.
Founded by two Stanford dropouts, Fizz launched at Stanford in 2021 and quickly reached over 95% student adoption. Since then, we've expanded to 400+ colleges, started generating ad revenue, and raised >$40M from investors such as Lightspeed, NEA, and Owl. Our mission: build a social network for the 99% of life that doesn’t make it onto entertainment platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

As a Fizz intern, you will be able to use your own experience of being a Fizz user to directly build for a product you care about. If you are proactive and driven to tackle challenging technical problems, have a passion for crafting high-quality software, and are eager to learn quickly and build new products from scratch , this internship is perfect for you. Interns will be compensated financially (including a housing stipend) and work full time out of our NYC office. We are flexible with start and end date of the internship.
ResponsibilitiesImagine, design, deploy, and iterate new product features (iOS and/or backend).
Build systems needed to launch and maintain hundreds of Fizz communities in the coming year.
Write clean, efficient, and scalable code that meets project requirements.
Design and implement RESTful APIs that are scalable, reliable, and secure.
Work closely with senior engineers to support ongoing projects and tasks.
Be a current or graduating college student that is personally a user of Fizz.
Strong fundamentals of CS concepts such as Algorithms, Data Structures, Networking, Operating Systems, Databases.
Experience building at least one product from the ground up.
Direct experience with any area of our tech stack (SwiftUI / UIKit, Google Cloud, Typescript, Node JS).
