Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, based in the Washington DC-Baltimore Area. The engineer will design, implement, and maintain secure systems, ensuring robust application, network, and information security frameworks.
Qualifications
- Python Software Engineering: Minimum of 5 years of experience architecting and writing production-ready Python software.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Proven ability to build and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Security Clearance Eligible: Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
- Self-Directed Learner: A high degree of autonomy and the ability to rapidly master new technologies or frameworks without formal training.
- Communication & Project Management: Strong ability to manage project timelines and communicate technical milestones to both internal team members and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- DARPA Background: Prior experience working on DARPA programs or similar high-intensity R&D government initiatives.
- Cybersecurity Operations: Hands-on experience with operational cybersecurity, including threat detection, incident response, or network defense.
- DoD Systems Expertise: Familiarity with DoD Information Systems, including knowledge of RMF (Risk Management Framework) or navigating Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
- Mission Experience: Practical experience deploying software into operational DoD environments or tactical edge networks.
