Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop Python and Bash automation to test, debug, and integrate a distributed image processing suite supporting geospatial intelligence and imagery library systems
- Build and maintain Python-based CLI tools that automate test environment provisioning, upgrades, and routine maintenance
- Design, deploy, and maintain Python and Bash Linux services (daemons) that automate image data ingestion, transfer, and distribution workflows using AWS S3
- Use Bash scripting, command-line tools, and SQL queries to validate system behavior, troubleshoot defects, and verify data integrity across distributed components
- Perform Integration & Test (I&T) activities across the full software stack, including verifying interactions between services, databases, and cloud storage
- Collaborate within an Agile environment using JIRA for issue tracking and Git/GitHub for version control and code review
- Serve as a secondary subject matter expert across multiple components, supporting fellow engineers and operational deployments
- Drive continuous improvement of test automation coverage, scripting practices, and integration workflows
Required Skills:
- Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI clearance (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 6-8+ years of experience in software development with a strong emphasis on Integration & Test, automation, and scripting
- Strong proficiency in Python for tool development, automation, and service implementation
- Strong proficiency in Bash scripting for system automation, test orchestration, and command-line debugging
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases for data validation and defect investigation
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly S3, for cloud-based data storage and transfer pipelines
- Solid command of Linux/UNIX environments, including writing and managing long-running system services (systemd/daemons)
- Experience testing and debugging distributed systems and data processing pipelines
- Experience with Git/GitHub and Agile methodologies (JIRA, Scrum/Kanban)
- Excellent problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills
- Proactive, self-directed, and adaptable in dynamic, mission-focused environments
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with SQL and relational database management systems (RDBMS) like Oracle.
- Proficiency in C++
- Experience with geospatial data and large imagery archive systems.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., sh, bash, PERL) and development tools (e.g., Eclipse, Spring Framework, Apache, Tomcat, Maven).
- Expertise in Java frameworks, including Spring and JEE.
- User Interface (UI) development experience within the JEE stack.
- Understanding of open-source software and services.
Required Clearance
- Active DoD Top Secret (Willing to obtain SCI)
- Some travel may be required: Must have valid driver’s license and transportation. This is subject to change at the direction of the customer.
